Most organizations that struggle do so because the systems they use to plan, learn, decide, and engage aren’t working together. I work at the organizational level and directly with leadership to build the coherence that makes good strategic plans translate into sustainable change and support leaders navigate that work.

Building Organizations That Learn

Many organizations really want strong evaluation systems, but it often turns into something that is compliance-driven, external, and disconnected from decisions. Learning becomes siloed. Amazingly useful data sits in reports. Teams implement new initiatives without a shared framework for understanding whether they are working, for whom, and why.

I help organizations build the internal capacity to make evaluation, implementation, and reflection are part of their organizational infrastructure.

Organizations come to me when:

  • Evaluation feels external, compliance-driven, or like an after-thought

  • Teams are implementing new initiatives without a clear framework

  • There is a genuine desire to center equity and community voice, but no structure for doing so

  • Staff want to use data more effectively, but don’t know where to start

What this looks like:

  • Organization-specific training and workshops on evaluation, implementation science, and systems thinking

  • Coaching for leadership and internal teams

  • Development of tools, templates, and internal processes

  • Learning systems that connect data, reflection, and decision-making

  • Supporting teams to apply implementation science frameworks like EPIS and CFIR in practice

Turning Vision Into Something That Works

Strategic planning can easily lead to very compelling documents that are difficult to act out in practice. A clear vision and aligned values that can get lost in competing priorities, unclear decision making authority, and structural challenges within the organization.

I partner with organizations to design strategies that are grounded in evidence AND in organizational reality.

Organizations come to me when:

  • Launching or redesigning a major initiative

  • Navigating complex policy or systems-level change

  • Aligning multiple partners across sectors

  • Translating research, data, or community input into actionable strategy

What this looks like:

  • Strategic planning and initiative design

  • Facilitation of cross-sector or multi-partner efforts

  • Advising on systems change and governance structures

  • Integrating equity and community engagement into strategy

  • Translating evidence and policy into implementation-ready approaches

Understanding What Works, How, and For Whom

The most important questions aren’t just “Did it work?”, they are “How did it work? Under what conditions? And for whom?” I design evaluation and implementation approaches that are practical, theory-informed, and built to be used by organizations to help understand and improve what they are doing.

Organizations come to me when:

  • Developing or refining a theory of change

  • Designing an evaluation that will actually be used

  • Implementing a program or policy and needing structure for consistency and learning

  • Understanding not just what works, but how, under what conditions, and for whom

What this looks like:

  • Theory of change and program theory development

  • Evaluation design including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods

  • Implementation planning using frameworks like EPIS and CFIR

  • Identifying key mechanisms, determinants, and outcomes

  • Designing feedback loops to support continuous learning and adaptation

Who We Have Worked With

Government Agencies and Public Systems

Public systems often have the most ambitious equity goals and the most fragmented infrastructure for achieving them. I work with government agencies to align cross-administration initiatives, build collaborative governance bodies that sustain beyond leadership transitions, and create community engagement processes that actually inform policy.

Academic and Research Institutions

Research institutions produce knowledge that is instrumental to the systems that need it, however, it does not always get there in a timely manner. I help academic partners build the evaluation and implementation capacity that effectively connects scholarship to community.

Nonprofits and Community Organizations

Nonprofits are often asked to do the most complex work with the least infrastructure. I partner with nonprofit leadership and boards to translate vision into strategic goals, build internal evaluation capacity, and create learning systems that do not add burden.

Foundations and Philanthropic Partners

Funders shape systems whether they intend to or not. I help philanthropic partners develop evaluation frameworks that clarify how their investments contribute to systems change and communicate that impact in ways that are both meaningful and grounded in community experience.
