Flicker Consulting, LLC was founded by Aaron Flicker, PhD, MSW, LICSW (they/them), a systems evaluator and implementation strategist working at the intersection of policy, evaluation, and practice.

Aaron founded Flicker Consulting after working across academia, government, the private sector, and nonprofit organizations, where they encountered a consistent pattern: beautifully designed strategic plans that didn’t quite translate into action across the organization, incredibly meaningful initiatives that were well-planned but not implemented as intended, and strong programs that lacked the evaluation needed to understand their impact.

At the same time, Aaron recognized that these challenges were not due to a lack of commitment or vision. Most organizations are navigating real constraints around time, resources, and capacity, while still being asked to design, implement, and evaluate complex initiatives. The phrase “building the plane while flying it” was one that came up across all settings. It was this recognition of the lack of infrastructure to support the great work organizations are doing and envisioning building that led to Flicker Consulting, to support organizations in building systems that are well-designed, usable, adaptive, and grounded int he realities that organizations face every day.

Aaron’s approach is grounded in over a decade of experience as a clinical social worker and therapist, shaping a practice that centers relationships, elevates diverse voices, prioritizes those least well served by programs, and emphasizes co-creation.

Aaron holds a PhD in Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development and brings a systems lens to all of their work. They are particularly drawn to complex organizational challenges, with a focus on creating clear, sustainable systems that support strategic decision-making over time.
